S I G N & D I G I T A L G R A P H I C S • June 2017 • 27 1 As you can tell, the logo appears to be sitting too low on the sign face. 2 Here we see the dimensioning that was used to make the sign perfectly even within the sign face. 3 Here is the same sign, but with "looks right, is right" applied to the logo placement. Notice that the main copy is more dominant when it's closer to the horizontal center of the sign. 4 The line of text appears to be placed too low on the sign face. It's very subtle, but it's definitely there and very noticeable once you identify it. 5 Again, a very subtle change to the sign, but the letters on this face do not appear to be sitting too low. We need to educate those who are not in the know on how visual balancing trumps mechanical balancing when it comes to signage.
