n Prune flowering shrubs (such as lilac) after they flower. n Start new lawns now or repair old lawns by over-seeding. n Spray apple and pear trees with Fertilome fire blight spray twice during the blossom period. n Use Spinosad dust on cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower to rid vegetables of cabbage lopper worms or use row covers to protect plants from these pests. JUNE • • • n Plant your vegetable garden early in the month. Make sure to keep soil evenly moist to encourage germination. n Transplant tomatoes and peppers into the vegetable garden. Harden-off tender transplants before planting or plant in the evening when it is cool. Water with diluted Fertilome Root Stimulator after transplanting. n Hoe small weeds in the morning and let the afternoon sun dry them up. n Plant tender annuals such as marigolds, begonias and impatiens. n Fertilize roses with Systemic Rose and Flower Care Rose food. n Prune flowering shrubs (such as lilacs) after bloom. n Tender aquatic plants (water hyacinths, water lettuce, etc.) can be added to your pond now. n Fertilize water lilies and marginals with Aquatic Pond Tabs. n Continue to feed fish.
