BASEBALL >> YOUTH BASEBALL & SOFTBALL Knothole Baseball Knothole Baseball is a fun and posi- tive approach to instructional baseball. By tailoring the rules and equipment, children are better allowed to learn and be success- ful playing the game. Different leagues are offered to try to include all ages. Play will be weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Games will be held twice a week for a 12 game schedule. Leagues Offered: Kindergarten (T-ball) 1st/2nd grade combined (T-ball) 1st Grade pitching machine with safety ball. 2nd grade (pitching machine with safety ball) 3rd/4th grade combined (pitching machine with baseball) Season Begins: June 7, 2010 Register By: May 19, 2010 Fee: $39.00 (Fee includes t-shirt) Form teams and register as teams. Registration packets may be obtained at the Recreation Center, 520 Memorial Drive. Parents! Form your own teams with your child’s friends and classmates. If you cannot form a team of your own, call the Recreation Center (612-8480) and your child will be placed on a pickup list. Holiday Baseball Tournament Join the Summer Holiday Baseball Tournament on July 8-9 for the following age divisions: 9-10 yr olds, 11-12 yr olds, 13 yr olds, 14 yr olds, and 15 yr olds. Deadline to enter, open until filled A & B teams welcome. Cost is $250.00 with a 4 game guar- antee. Dates: June 18-19, 2010 Divisions: 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U Cost: $250 per team, minimum 3 games Deadline to enter, open until filled For more information contact Idaho Falls Parks & Recreation or Jason Buell at 612- 8480 Upper Valley Tiger Softball Camp This camp is for girls age 8 and up who want to improve their softball skills. Mike Durrant, the Idaho Falls High School girls fast pitch softball coach will be conducting the clinic. Session One: TBA (approx. end of May) at Tautphaus Park. Times to be announced. The focus of this session will be hitting and throwing. Session Two: TBA at Tautphaus Park. Times to be announced. The focus of this session will be fielding & throwing Each Session is $20 or $30 for both ses- sions. Pay at the Recreation Center (520 Memorial) or at the field. Call 612-8480 with any questions Bobbie-Sox Softball Designed for young girls, Bobbie-Sox is a fun and exciting way to learn to play softball. Rules and equipment are modified for different age groups to better teach their fundamental skills. Play will be held week- days from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Games will be held twice a week. Twelve game schedule.
