KARATE JKA Shotakan is a traditional Japanese martial art. Emphasis will be on basics, ikata (forms), and kumite (sparring). Juniors will learn discipline, focus, respect, and goal setting. (School grades and conduct a must). Adults will learn self defense, awareness, and pushing your own physical ability. Location: Parks & Recreation Activity Center, 1575 N Skyline. Instructor: Sensei Randy Hubbard Times: Monday and Wednesdays Adults: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Kids: (8 - 14 yrs) 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost: $31.80 per month JUJITSU Sanjuriu is an ancient martial art, devel- oped over 2000 years ago in Japan, and honored over the centuries. This is the sys- tem that was used to train the ruling class in Japanese society, the Samurai Warriors. One of the main principles of Sanjuriu is gentleness. Students are taught to use the attacker’s own motion and momentum to overcome him. Combining the throws of Jujutsu and the strikes and kicks of karate as well as weapons study, this is the most com- plete system in existence today.
