Management of potentially life-threatening complications, including sepsis, laminitis, and hyperammonemia syndrome will also be discussed. Equine Herpes Myeloencephalopathy (EHM) is an uncommon manifestation of equine herpesvirus 1 that has resulted in devastating losses on individual farms, boarding stables, veterinary hospitals, and show venues. Our knowledge and understanding of this condition has improved, and this lecture will focus on the epidemiology, diagnosis, and prevention of EHM.
