With these requests, we see ourselves having unexpected challenges on installation areas like corrugated roofs, protruded lights and more. In this article, I will walk you through one or two of the process on how to tackle an installation on these difficult surfaces. One of the main steps is listed below: P.P.P. • Preparation / Film selection • Prime • Post-Heat I will demonstrate using some protrusion tech- niques on a Ford F-350 vehicle using 3M 1080 Satin dark grey cast film. We will first look at the rooftop protrusions, and then tackle the protruding roof lights on this vehicle. Cleaning and Surface Prep The tools you'll need for this job include an air release pin, a Blade Cage, razor knife and knifeless tape, a laser-controlled heat gun or a heat gun with a separate laser temperature gauge for accurate con- trolled temperatures, 3M VCAT Roller, masking tape, 3M Primer 94 towels, a small brush, squeegee and a wrap glove.
