Switzerland-based Zünd Systemtechnik AG, a manufacturer of digital table cutting equipment and supplies, announcing its purchase of UK-based Zünd Plotting Systems. Zünd Plotting Systems had been the company's sole reseller of its products in the United Kingdom. Now a subsidiary of Zünd Systemtechnik AG, Zund UK will continue to serve the UK and Irish markets as in the past, but with the added benefit of being even more closely aligned with its parent company in terms of sales, ser- vice, and support of Zünd digital cutting systems. Tim Taylor, founder and commercial director of Zund UK, will remain with the company, heading up UK sales. As newly appointed managing director, Stuart Cole will be overseeing daily operations. EFI Acquires CRC Information Systems Fremont, California-based wide-format printer manufacturer and workflow software developer EFI announces its acquisition of Scottsdale, Arizona-based CRC information Systems, a provider of business management information systems for commercial printers throughout the U.S. and Canada. CRC also caters to packaging label and forms printers, and EFI says acquiring that company will expand its market share in North America. EFI says it is already the global leader in providing end-to-end business and production workflow software to the commercial print, publishing and packaging industries. Sicom Systems Acquires Restaurant Software Provider RTI Doylestown, Pennsylvania-based Sicom Systems, which provides restaurants with point-of-sale, kitchen management, and drive-through technology, announces its acquisition of Marietta, Georgia-based RTI, which makes software for quick-serve and fast- casual restaurants. The company says RTI's restaurant software will complement its own end-to-end technologies and enable it to expand its capacity, accelerate research and development and increase its presence in new brands and markets. RTI's founders were multi-unit franchisees before starting the software company in 1985, according to the press release announcing the sale, and designed their software solutions based on their own experi- ences in the industry. The company today serves more than 10,000 restaurants and its client list includes such name brands as McDonald's, Arby's, Checkers, Popeyes, Wendy's, Burger King and Church's Chicken. RTI offers RTIconnect, RTIoffice and RTI Payroll solutions, helping multi-unit franchises improve opera- tional efficiencies and increase profitability. Print, cut, show it off.
