Most printers not familiar with special effects printing assume that it requires great skill, investment, and time to do so. They often won- der, "Why print special effects?" Simply put: increased profits. Printers who incorporate special effects prints in their repertoire stand apart from their counterparts and can typically charge more. Plus, customers love texture, glam, and glitz. If you can deliver any of those effects, you're sure to be their favorite decorator. Kieth Stevens is the western regional sales manager for International Coat- ings. He has been screen printing and working in the screen printing indus- try for more than 35 years, and teach- ing screen printing for more than 19 years.
