Issue 43 / 2012 REPRESENTING REGGAE ROAST REGGAE / DANCE HALL 45 www.guestlist.net 7 THE HEATWAVE'S BASHMENT RAVING IN LONDON THIS AUTUMN Reggae Roast is making its way back to London - not quite to Brixton, where the reggae scene has taken over the streets, but to Stoke Newington (close enough?). Brixton's Plan B has played host to a series of roadblock events organised by Reggae Roast, but now they're taking it to Bar A Bar for a new level of intimacy, espe- cially when compared to the last few shows, which have had up to 1000 attendees. With a lineup that brings London's finest DJs (including General Roots, Ramon Judah and half of The Nextmen, whose notoriety on the party DJ scene precedes them) to one of london's finest sound systems, this event is guaranteed to get you skanking along! Reggae Roast has also teamed up with London's up and coming clothing brand, Illustrated People, to bring the first fifty people a free t-shirt, and Bar A Bar has announced that these lucky early birds will also have their first drink on the house, so don't be late! This event will take place on the 29th Sep- tember from 9pm until the early hours. Get your ticket now for only £5, or £8 on the door! 12 NEW RELEASES REGGAE ROAST Occupy The Session EP KASKET August Fades (APOLLO RECORDS) LAZY HABITS Debut Album (DIPLOMATS OF SOUND) PRINCE FATTY Got Your Money (Ol' Dirty Bastard Remix) MR BONGO BY THE RIVERS Don't Say You Love Me (KOMPYLA RECORDS) BEENIE MAN Hot Like Fire Carnival may be finished but for us it never stops. We played on a float at carnival this year (see pictures) and we personally invited everyone in the street around the truck to come and party with us for the rest of year. This autumn there's only one bashment rave you need to be at in London. Hot Wuk Weekly is held every Wednesday at The Social in Oxford Circus. It's your favourite dancehall artist's favourite bashment party. You might see the most incredibly acrobatic dance move, or hear artists like Stylo G and Lady Chann passing through and jumping on the mic. One thing is certain: the vibe will be INSANE. 100% smiling, 100% dancing, 100% big tunes. Every Wednesday we rave like it's a Saturday!
