and feeling really confident this is going
to be a really good year."
Barron, who could extend the streak
of having an O-lineman selected as a
captain to four years, knows his perfor-
mance will be pivotal to solidifying not
only the line but the entire offense.
It's why he made sure to galvanize
the unit this summer, challenging team-
mates in the weight room — where he's
king now with Roos gone — and learn-
ing to become a more vocal leader.
He knows what the perception is of
his group. And he's eager to change it.
"We're probably happier no one
thinks we're good," Barron said. "That's
probably something that gives us an
even bigger chip on our shoulder.
"If we all move forward in the same
direction, we're all getting better, it's go-
ing to improve the entire team because it
starts with the offensive line. I think we're
awfully excited for the challenges ahead
of us. At least I know I am. What I've seen
from the guys so far, they are too."
