Today, if an American Airlines Federal Credit Union member-owner is looking for information about a title, there's a reliable group they can reach to help examine issues. Not unlike writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Holmes, Supervisor LeAnn Carroll and her colleagues in the Titles Department do their own form of investigative work helping members resolve title problems. With 25 years of experience working at the Credit Union, Carroll has on her side what she considers an invaluable part of her job — relationships with sources across the U.S. "I've got some great contacts and go-to people that I've cultivated over the years," she says. "Especially in places such as New York and Florida … we do a lot of business in Florida." Based out of the Fort Worth Flagship Branch, Carroll collaborates with 47 branches covering all 50 states and the District of Columbia. This makes her experience even more valuable to members because when it comes to rules and regulations for titles, every state is different. "All the states require different things, and they get very technical on some of their processes," she says. To keep up with frequent changes to states title regulations, Carroll regularly receives and reviews releases from states informing her department of updates. Solving title issues and helping clear up member questions are what Carroll proudly says are the best parts of her job. "It's very, very satisfying when you've resolved a problem that a member thought they were just not going to be able to fi x." she says. "Customer service is my No. 1 – that's where my heart is. I love talking to our members. I love helping them. My group that works with me, they're the same way. They really do want to help."
