FILM
The film serves as an adaptation of the
2000 non-fiction book of the same
name by Loung Ung, which recounts her
experiences living in Cambodia during Pol
Pot's horrendous regime.
During the years that Pot was in power,
it is estimated that between one to three
million people died as a direct result of
his policies, with her book giving a direct
insight into how life was like under the rule
of such a man.
Jolie's adaptation will star Sareum
Srey Moch as Loung, with Phoeung
Kompheak, Sveng Socheata and Tharoth
Sam rounding off the supporting cast.
Principal photography occurred last year
in Cambodia, with the film set to arrive on
Netflix in 2018.
