Pablo Bolivar shows quality 'form' with Space and Form. The three-track offering takes you on a very interesting journey, channeling three very different kinds of electronic music. 'Otherwise' kicks things off. The deeply melodic track uses a very powerful baseline and hypnotic synths. At seven minutes long this track is a marathon rather than a sprint. Without the percussion, the track would easily become a bit of a drag. The second track is titled 'Vanished' and frames itself around trippy techno melodies. Again, the melodic synths are a mainstay throughout the track. The trance feel is incredibly clear but with the inclusion of the progressive chord stabs it keeps the track from sounding like a pre-2010 production. To finish things off we have the title track 'Space and Form', a lot smoother than the other tracks. Relaxed beats and warmer sounds carry you through this last track and it is a fitting end given the more intense nature of the first two! Tube and Berger's new LP is the ultimate techno record we've all been waiting for! 51st State Festival returns to London's Trent Park on the 5th of August with an unrivalled line-up. GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: TUBE & BERGER This year's line-up will be headed up by the undisputed kings of house, Masters At Work. Joining the ranks is the inimitable Dimitri from Paris, who will be bringing his distinct fusion of house, disco and soul. Bringing his own version of Chicago house is the legendary Derrick Carter. The electric line-up continues on with tech house titan Matthias Tanzmann, rare groove pioneer Norman Jay MBE, and falsetto pro Byron Stingily. Growing up in a small town in Germany and faced with the boredom that comes with suburbia, Tube & Berger, (aka Arndt Roerig and Marko Vidovic), looked to music early. Their 2012 debut LP Introlution gave the duo the recognition they deserved. Their atest album We are all Stars builds on their trademark club-ready grooves, to incorporate more of a 'live sounding' indietronica styling. The record is 12 tracks long, 'Dust Feel' and 'Burning Road' are great examples of Tubes and Berger's work. They have a reputation for dominating clubs and filling rooms, but this LP is as intimate as it gets. Smooth and beautifully layered with the percussion keeping the rhythm upbeat, while not overpowering the songs with other elements.
