GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: REDPILL 40 ISSUE 100 / 2017 Blackout Music will take over Dalston's premier basement venue. There's no argument here, take Redpill over the blue ones any day. Perhaps the hardest thing to come out of France since Signal, Redpill from Toulouse has been continuously dropping ridiculously intense slabs of neurofunk madness since he surfaced last year. At the end of this month the Frenchman makes his debut to the Eatbrain camp with 6 killer cuts. It's a powerful selection of tunes that fit Eatbrain's bill perfectly. Biblical drops and mind blowing sound designs are in full force across the tracks in what is Redpill's best works to date. First impressions count, and this is the best start with Eatbrain. Redpill's Corruptions EP is out now. If moody drum & bass is your thing, than The Nest in Dalston have got a sick night line up for you on July 14th. They've invited down Blackout Music for a heavy tech fuelled drum & bass session. Leading the charge are label heads, Black Sun Empire who've invited guests; Icicle and Neonlight who'll be providing the support. Blackout's Nest takeover comes not long since the Black Sun Empire trio dropped their huge album; The Waiting Room. Riding on a high since it's release, expect them to tear things up with their unmistakeably hard style. ALBUM OF THE MONTH: HYBRID MINDS - ELEMENTS The duo have released a scorer of an album. Liquid drum & bass is such a perfect soundtrack for the summer, and no one is as good as Hybrid Minds right now. Despite their groundings in liquid, the duo have been on fire since their seminal release, 'The Place' propelled them to the forefront of the scene. They've since released anthem after anthem, rallying a dedicated crew of d&b heads behind them. At the end of June Matt & Josh will be dropping their second album. Coming four years since their last, it was definitely about time we got another from them. Coming in the form of Elements, it's been 3 years in the making and features a league of talented vocalists who bring the 15-tracked-release to life. Landing on the boy's Hybrid Music imprint, The duo has already released three singles - all of which has been well received. Showcasing their signature sound; of hard drums, uplifting melodies and charming vocals it's another shining example of this duo's production mastery.
