Village to participate in First Impressions Westport council agreed to support their Economic Development and Tourism Committee's initiative to participate in the First Impressions Community Exchange. Volunteer teams from each partnered communi- ty conduct an unan- nounced visit to the other community to record their observations on a wide variety of services and amenities in their host community. After an information meeting organized by Ontario Ministry of Food and Rural Affairs on June 21, committee members and council had a consen- sus that the village should move forward with the initiative. The Review-Mirror July 20, 2017 – 16 Rideau Lakes Golf and Country Club's 6th Golf Fore the Cure event last Wednesday raised $15,000, bringing the local event's fundraising tally to $65,000 over its six years. A team of volunteers, this year under the leadership of Sandy and Bill Murray, along with Mary Joan St. James who started the event at Rideau Lakes, and many donors continue to make the event a success. Cancer survivors made a ceremonial tee-off to open the event – from left, Kay Hargreaves, June Morris, Janet Finlayson, Norma Gorham and Enid Robertson.
