The unique pool platform. PROFILE Centrally located along Singapore's Marina Bay, the iconic 608-room luxury hotel may not be the newest kid on the block, but it continues to inspire meeting planners, now with the launch of a new concept that adds over 1,394sqm of outdoor events space. SPACE After a recent transformation, the hotel's outdoor swimming pool, next to the upgraded spa and gym, now features a three-tiered timber deck, anked by sun loungers, private cabanas, a pool bar and an outdoor grill suitable for a variety of events. The best part of the space, however, is the creation of an overpool cover, giving planners the option of using the space exclusively by partially or completely covering the pool. Made of Plexiglas (or acrylic glass), the transparent and durable table-tops are said to be able to support weights of up to 800kg per cube. When placed in water, the standing Plexiglas-top cubes can be custom-built to meld into various shapes to accommodate the length and width of the pool, or just a portion of it, depending on needs. Meeting planners can consider holding a car or product launch, an outdoor concert with a dance oor, a fashion show or even a pool party. FOOD How about a unique overwater gastronomic experience for your guests? For exclusive use of the closed pool, a minimum F&B spend of SGD$18,000 (US$13,046) is required. EVENT SUPPORT The outdoor atmosphere of the pool area can be accentuated with video projection mapping, LED lighting in the trees and foliage, and underwater lighting which gives the eect of walking on water. In addition, the hotel now has a new entrance, accessible via Raes Avenue, allowing guests attending events by the pool to drop o directly. X•FACTOR The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore is bringing new meaning to the term "poolside party" with its overpool cover that not only oers plenty of exibility for meeting planners, but also a potentially unforgettable experience for attendees.
