From seaweed Adidas shoes to H&M's ethical clothing line. Ethical clothing is in demand. British designer Stella McCartney and daughter of Beatles legend Paul McCartney is bringing awareness to fast fashion's problem with waste in her Winter 2017 campaign. It's no surprise, given that customers can shop to their heart's content without the crushing guilt of damaging the environment or knowing that workers are getting unfair wages, it's a double win. The only issue with this, is most big brands use products that aren't 100% ethically sourced or produced. What's the solution, Antiform that's what! Established by Lizzie Harrison in 2007 Antiform is not only affordable (with prices starting from £25), but the brand also prides itself on selling only 100% recycled materials. Other ways in which this company keeps its hands ethically clean is by sourcing all its materials and workmanship within the UK. This, in turn, means low carbon footprint, and feeling less guilty about buying in bulk. Antiform also gives customers the option of customising their own clothing, from jumpers to skirts, they have a style for you. From woolly looking purses to handmade knitted fishermen hats, and for the more sporty look, Anti-form has a collection of beautifully patterned leggings that won't disappoint. Antiform isn't your usual clothes website. This clothing brand gives fashion forward thinkers an eccentric mix of style, that goes that extra mile to say that they are truly ethical producers. The campaign sees models dressed in slouchy silhouettes of grey, camel and cream posing in a rubbish strewn landfill site and reclining in a pile of rubbish. McCartney aims to bring awareness to the fact that almost 300 million tonnes of plastic are produced each year, with the majority ending up in a landfill, plastic production is expected to triple by 2050 when the population expands to nearly ten billion people. The designer is doing her part to save the planet by using organic cotton, recycled nylon and her newly created fabric, Skin-Free-Skin, which provides a cruelty-free alternative to suede and leather was introduced as part of her Autumn 2017 collection. Despite the hefty price tag of some of McCartney's items, fashion fans can be reassured that their products will stand the test of time and won't be falling apart within the first few weeks of wear, making any Stella McCartney piece a serious investment.
