2017 / ISSUE 101 21 FILM Which is why it's so refreshing to see the actor finally tackling a whole new type of role in the upcoming heist movie Logan Lucky. Craig stars as a master criminal busted out of prison to help he's three brothers carry out a heist. Aside from Craig, Logan Lucky features a huge cast of big name actors including Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Seth MacFarlane, Katie Holmes and Katherine Waterston. The film is directed by Steven Soderbergh, who is best known for a multitude of acclaimed films such as Sex, Lies & Videotape, The Limey, Out of Sight, Erin Brockovich, Contagion, Magic Mike, and the Ocean's Eleven trilogy. Logan Lucky comes out in the UK on August 25th. Aside from his brief cameo as a stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Daniel Craig hasn't starred in a single non-Bond film since the release of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo back in 2011. Michele Sullivan reminds us that it is important to surround ourselves with a support system because "we all need help throughout our lifetime." Sullivan urges us not to isolate ourselves but to look past the surface and be "confronted with the truth that none of us are what you can see." All of us are dealing with things that others can't see. For her closing off speech, Sullivan concludes that we can also give back by helping those around us "with compassion, courage and understanding, we can walk side by side and support one another, and think about how society can change if we all do that." Amid the craziness, things take a turn for the worst when the stripper accidently dies. 25th August - Detroit In 1967 three young black men were murdered by white police officers, triggering one of the bloodiest riots in American history. Following the aftermath John Boyega stars as a young black police officer trying to mediate a situation that is rapidly deteriorating into chaos. 25th August - American Made Based on the life of Barry Seal, Tom Cruise plays the former pilot who was recruited by the CIA to gather incriminating evidence against key drug cartel figures, and soon after, finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations in the US. The deceased star is the subject of a new feature-length documentary called Whitney: Can I Be Me, which is currently playing in limited release. Houston's records have sold an estimated 170-200 million copies worldwide, making her one of the most successful female artists of all time. This new documentary sheds life on both her incredible life and her tragic death making it an essential viewing for fans of the late singer. Whitney: Can I Be Me was co-directed by Rudi Dolezal and acclaimed documentary filmmaker Nick Broomfield, whose previous films include Kurt & Courtney, Biggie & Tupac, Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer.
