GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: CHLOÉ GISELE On the 13th of August reggae star Protoje & dancehall artist Stylo G will be storming the stage at the O2 in Greenwich. Chloé Gisele tells us to 'Whine Up' on debut single. With the summer finally here, it's high time we start getting our BBQ playlists in order with this month's summer tune. One worthy addition is the debut single, titled 'Whine Up', from Swedish singer Chloé Gisele. It's a collaboration with Trinidadian soca artist Bunji Garlin and pretty epic. With its blend of pop and dancehall, it's even catching the attention of rapper Nicki Minaj. Speaking on the track, Chloe says, "It's an uplifting track about not taking everything in life too seriously, being open to new beginnings and giving people second chances, even though they might have hurt you in the past." Known for his politically charged music and hard hitting lyrics, Protoje is unapologetic in his commentary on the current state of Jamaica in his recent track 'Blood Money'. Described as a "fired- up warrior fighting against social injustice," Protoje is bound to keep us jamming all night long to his conscious vibes and explosive tunes. Joining Protoje is the son of legendary dancehall artist Poison Chang, Stylo G who decided to follow in his father's footsteps. Making his mark with hit tracks like 'Call Mi Leader' & 'My Number 1.' EVENT PREVIEW: JAMAICA HOUSE PRESENTS PROTOJE & STYLO G THIS AUGUST! ARTIST OF THE MONTH: DOUBLE TIGER The feel good debut album from Jay Spaker aka Double Tiger is finally here! Sharp & Ready is a perfect mix of progressive and future roots reggae, packed with pure feel good vibes. The LP features everything from energetic dancehall to rub - a - dub, much like reggae's rising stars Protoje and Jesse Royal, Spaker is poised to leave his mark on the reggae scene with an album like this. Kicking off with 'Rocking Time' a high energy, ska-infulenced single, it is obvious Spaker means serious business. Other standout tracks such as 'Feel Is Nice', 'Babylon Expire' and 'A Feelin' will leave you contemplating life, as you jam to Sharp & Ready's authentic but modern reggae sound. 50 ISSUE 101 / 2017 REGGAE PLAYLIST Warrior Empress Askala Selassie In My Father's House Addis Pablo Reggae Music Will Mad Unu!
