P M F R C A N N U A L R E P O R T 1 6 / 1 7 3 5 P R I V A T E H O M E D A Y C A R E • The care providers have embraced the implemen- ta on of the new How Does Learning Happen? and are being pa ent with the changes in regula- on with the Child Care and Early Years Act. • Caregivers have been taking part in community events such as Play Troop and story mes at the Petawawa Library. • The care providers have been eager to a end pro- fessional development opportuni es with Renfrew County Child Care Services and have been ac vely inves ga ng other professional development opportuni es. • Currently there are 40 children enrolled in the PHDC program. We have twelve homes operat- ing, including two Emergency Child Care provid- ers. • Presently there are six new care givers and homes processing. The opening of these new homes will assist with our waitlist. • 945 hours were used in Emergency Respite Care, 148 hours in Casualty Support Child Care and 17 hours in Emergency Child Care. • PHDC is supported by a volunteer who provides child care for the private home day care providers when a ending monthly mee ngs and training.
