GOLD AND BLACK ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 28, ISSUE 1 44
Purdue is losing three of its better
defensive players after this season,
as linebackers Ja'Whaun Bentley
and T.J. McCollum and lineback-
er-turned-pass-rusher Danny Eze-
chukwu depart.
"I want to give it a little bit (before
committing), but I'm honestly really
happy with Purdue," Craft said. "Ob-
viously I just want to kind of explore
the process, because I never really
got to go through it before, see what
it has to offer. But Purdue being this
interested right away has kind of
caught my eye compared to a lot of
other schools."
Purdue hit the junior college
ranks hard last winter, signing de-
fensive end Kai Higgins, offensive
tackle Ethan Smart and safety T.J.
Jallow mid-year, then wide receivers
Isaac Zico and Terry Wright in Feb-
ruary, followed by the late addition
of defensive tackle Ray Ellis in the
spring.
Brohm said then that Purdue
might remain in the junior college
market from here on out, but proba-
bly not to the lengths it needed to in
the short term to fill urgent person-
nel needs.
Such needs aren't often solidified
in a lasting manner overnight, and
so positions like the defensive line,
offensive line, wide receiver and
linebacker could again get attention
in the J.C. ranks.
