DeAngelo Yancey
DeAngelo Yancey's tenure in Green Bay started slowly, but by
Week 2 of training camp, the fifth-round draft choice was start-
ing to catch on. That was good news for the former Boiler-
maker, as he tries to make the Packers' 53-man roster, and
for Green Bay, which is trying to get younger in its skill
positions. "When I first got here, it was kind of a curve
that I had to get used to," he said from training camp,
just before the preseason opener. "The details matter.
If you're supposed to be two yards outside the num-
bers, make sure you're two yards outside the numbers
every time." In his first two preseason games, Yancey
totaled three receptions for 67 yards, showing the kind
of game-breaking ability that he displayed in his ten-
ure at Purdue. "Coming here, I'm trying to do whatever
is necessary and making the most out of every opportunity
that comes my way," he said.
