TURF DISEASE
areas, especially those that did
not receive an early season
application for dollar spot or
fairy ring.
"You never totally eradicate
a disease from a turf system,"
Golembiewski said. "It's
really about controlling the
population. Enough research
shows that if you start on a
preventative schedule earlier
in the season or earlier in
the springtime period it
definitely keeps the dollar spot
population in check and at
least as you progress through
the summer time period when
conditions become more
favorable the disease doesn't
seem to amplify as much as
those that tend to wait until
the first signs of the disease
and tend to play catch up the
rest of the summer."
