10 POTATO GROWER | SEPTEMBER 2017 New Products Tong Fieldloader Tong introduces new design options on its popular Fieldloader, including unique automatic transport mode features, allowing users to make the machine even more compact for road transport. Designed to provide effective in-fi eld cleaning and bulk loading in one mobile machine, the Tong Fieldloader is a mobile system that allows crop cleaning and inspection to take place straight from the harvester with direct loading into bulk trucks for immediate distribution. The new options on the Fieldloader are set to offer even better transportability and maneuverability between fi elds and the farm. The standard Fieldloader stands about 72 feet long when in full operation, but reduces to just under 49 feet long when in transport mode. The new automatic transport mode design can also include further transport options including full suspension, brakes, machine lighting and steering where required. Heat Holders Socks & Thermals Heat Holders thermal socks are thick and chunky, made from a specially developed heavy bulk yarn with extreme thermal qualities. With long-pile cushioning, these thermal socks will help keep feet fully comfortable and supported during outdoor working hours when winter hits. The inside of each sock has been intensively brushed that not only feels sensationally soft but also traps warm air close to the skin keeping your feet warmer for longer. The ribbed construction of Heat Holders long johns shapes to the body's natural contours, combining with the soft brushed inside to maximize warmth. The cotton blend and elastic waist provide natural softness and comfort. Heat Holders are diabetic-friendly and provide relief for cold feet due to circulation problems. John Deere Yield Documentation With Yield Documentation, Specialty Crop, growers get instantaneous yield information and totals on-the- go with the GreenStar 2630 display. Weight-based, conveyor-driven harvesting equipment for potatoes, onions, sugarbeets, grapes and other specialty crops can now be connected to the GS3 2630 display for on-screen mapping, in-cab color visualization and, by color-coding each pass on a map, a real-time picture of the harvest. Harvest data in the fi eld is only part of the picture. Easy access to yield information helps growers make better informed agronomic decisions for next year's crop, all based on site-specifi c data. Harvest documentation data can be transferred to John Deere Operations Center via USB or Wireless Data Transfer for further analysis and to generate future variable rate prescriptions. Tomra Eco Steam Peeler Tomra recently installed new a Eco steam peeler in a potato processing facility that stands more than 26 feet tall and has the capability to peel more than 1,400 pounds of potatoes in less than seven seconds. The processing capacity of the steam peeler is more than 143,300 pounds of potatoes per hour, or a daily rate of 3,439,200 pounds. Steam peeling has for a long time been the most effi cient method of removing skin from the surface of vegetables. The new Eco steam is also effi cient, using 28 percent less steam than other peelers of its type. Contact Tomra Sorting Food at www.tomra.com/peeling. 10 POTATO GROWER | SEPTEMBER 2017
