24 • RV PRO • September 2017 rv-pro.com R V M A N U F A C T U R E R S A ll signs point to this year being the best one on record for the RV industry in more than four decades, so it's no wonder that RV manufac- turers are expecting this year's Elkhart Open House Week to bring in perhaps the largest number of dealers ever placing the largest purchase orders ever. This year's event – scheduled for Monday, Sept. 18, through Thursday, Sept. 21 – will reflect the usual changeup in manufacturers, as some players make their debut (Grand Coach), some mark their return after an absence (Cricket/ Taxa) and some opt not to display at all (Newmar, which opted not to participate because of a heavy backlog of existing orders). Meanwhile, one notable development this year is that park model builders will have their own designated display area south the RV/MH Hall of Fame, near the intersection of County Roads 6 and 17. Still, the more things change, the more they stay the same, as the industry's Big 2 maintain their previous locations. Open House originator Forest River will anchor its Expo on the grounds of the Dynamax facility on County Road 6 and Thor Industries will again host its dealer event on the Hall of Fame grounds. Read on to find out more about the activities and deals manufacturers have planned for their dealer partners.
