16 PRECISION ENGINE OCTOBER 2017 PRECISION ENGINE Supercharger Belts Speed City Performance, Mentor, Ohio, introduces Star Racer Supercharger Belts. The race-tested belts are built with a proprietary blend of carbon fiber, fabric and rubber, and have been used by NHRA, FIA, NTPA and drag boat racers. Previously available in only 8mm and 14mm thicknesses, Star Racer's supercharger belt lineup now includes the 11mm Star Racer PLUS. Ram Intake Gale Banks Engineering, Azusa, California, offers its Banks Monster-Ram Cold-Air Intake for 2013-'17 Ram 6.7-liter applications. Engineered to remove airflow restrictions for improved throttle response, the free-flowing Monster-Ram uses an OEM-quality custom fuel line that eliminates the need for humps and bumps when routing. With a flow rating of 906 cfm, the system provides quicker engine response and improved efficiency. The cast aluminum intake deletes the EGR and throttle body, and is available in 3.5- and 4-inch inlet sizes. GM Sportsman Tool Steel Camshafts COMP Cams, Memphis, Tennessee, offers custom GM Sportsman Tool Steel Camshafts featuring core technology widely used in NASCAR, NHRA and other professional race engines for its high strength and profile flexibility. Special ST4- grade tool steel is 30-percent stronger than SAE 5150 or SAE 8620 options. Due to its higher carbon content, it has also been shown to wear less than S7 tool steel, allowing the cams to handle more aggressive profiles and offer engine builders the opportunity to choose almost any duration, lift, lobe separation and advance. EcoBoost Mustang Aluminum Intercooler Honeywell Garrett, Torrance, California, introduces a new, all-aluminum intercooler for Ford 2.3-liter EcoBoost Mustang applications. Offering improved efficiency through the use of computational fluid dynamics when designing its end tanks and a 60-percent larger core, the intercooler provides a 30-percent reduction in pressure drop as well as 40-degree reduction in inlet temperatures versus the stock setup. It can support up to 600 horsepower—nearly double what is offered from the factory. Heat Shrouds Design Engineering Inc. (DEI), Avon Lake, Ohio, introduces Heat Shroud GOLD with hook-and-loop closure for quick installation on fuel lines, wire, hose and cable. A lightweight, low-clearance material that protects sensitive components from extreme temperature swings, Heat Shroud GOLD is a metalized polyamide polymer laminated to a 20-ounce heat-treated glass cloth material. It is capable of handling continual temperatures up to 850 degrees, and also provides protection against oil, dirt and road grime, while resisting UV degradation. ENGINE PRODUCTS Camaro Cold Air Intakes Holley Performance Products, Bowling Green, Kentucky, introduces its iNTECH Cold Air Intakes for fifth- generation Chevrolet Camaros. Shown to generate nearly 19 additional hp and more than 16 foot- pounds of torque on the dyno, the intakes were specifically developed for 6.2-liter, V-8-powered 2010-'15 Camaros. The systems deliver a true fresh-air intake charge and feature an innovative, patent-pending Slip- Seal housing/filter/tube interface, eliminating the need for hose clamps and adapters. Hemi Heads Edelbrock, Torrance, California, introduces its Performer RPM Cylinder Head for 2003-current Gen III Hemi engines. Designed with the Eagle intake and exhaust port location and suitable for use with the 5.7-liter Eagle and later stock intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, valve covers, rockers, spark plugs and accessories—as well as Hellcat components—the cylinder heads have been machined to be used on either the driver or passenger side of the block. They feature fully CNC-machined combustion chambers and CNC-profiled bowls and port entries/exits for improved airflow.
