from the direc About AALL Join the ranks of the nation's oldest organization for law librarians. Established in 1906, AALL is dedicated to promoting the value of law librarians and providing tools to increase members' leadership skills and abilities to position themselves as essential to the mission of their organizations. Membership in AALL allows law librarians to connect with their colleagues across the nation and build their management skills. About 300 members serve on more than 30 committees, playing integral roles to make law librarians leaders in legal information, research, and technology. This joint white paper acknowledges the strategic alliance that has developed between the law librarian and technologist in driving efficient and effective legal information management. The library is no longer a place; instead, it has been transformed, using technology to deliver legal information from anywhere. It is no longer business as usual, and as legal professionals retool and reskill through innovation and new business models, technology will be key. Learn more about how technology is being used to deliver customized access points to information, embed information professionals within practice groups and deliver innovation in law schools. We are grateful for this partnership with ILTA, one that I know will continue. At our annual meeting in Boston this past July, ILTA worked with us to develop a day of technology programs, which were well- received and ranked highly by our members. This white paper is our next collaborative venture, and I am certain it will lead to more projects in support of the profession. I would like to acknowledge and thank ILTA's Executive Director Randi Mayes, all of the members from our organizations who contributed their expertise and our staff members who worked to make this white paper a reality.
