ALM's Legal Technology News (www.law.com/jsp/ lawtechnologynews) is not specific to mobile devices, but they tend to have a lot of coverage related to iPads. Their daily alert email message is one of the simplest ways to stay on top of what's happening with iPads in law firms. When I was first creating the "Apps for Lawyers" guide, I relied heavily on Vicki Steiner's Mobile Applications for Law Students and Lawyers, available at http://libguides.law.ucla.edu/mobilelegalapps. There are also a few books out there on using tablets in the legal workplace, including two published by the American Bar Association: Tom Mighell's "iPad in One Hour for Lawyers" and "iPad Apps in One Hour for Lawyers." Pave the Way The use of iPads and other tablets in the workplace will continue to be a growing trend. Legal librarians have a unique opportunity to provide a needed service of educating lawyers about how best to utilize these devices and the many available apps in their daily work. We can help ease lawyers' transition from desktop computers to tablets, and this will help us build rapport within our organizations. We've always provided access to information. This is our chance to drive the adoption of new ways of accessing information through iPads and mobile apps. For those who think librarians are becoming obsolete, I say we're just getting started.
