TRACK OF THE MONTH: RMS - DIG DEEP Due to come out this September the duo's Portal EP is 4 tracks and includes records with Friction, SpectraSoul & lyamah. RMS has been smashing it this year, and his upcoming EP is just more fuel for that fire. The Canadian seems to be one producer who just keeps giving. He's had a string of releases this year, each as good as the last. He fixes up a tasty blend of rolling riddims with elements from across the board, finalising in a discography of records that'll set things off. His latests work is forthcoming on Audio Addict, and yet again RMS smashes it. Our pick from the 5 tuned Tributaries EP is 'Dig Deep'. The drums are something Break would be proud of and combine that with the scatty drones of the bassline and smooth keys you've got yourself another belter of a tune that's down and dirty whilst atmospheric. The tell tail signs have all been there, though finally, the official news has landed, and that's My Nu Leng have sorted some tunes of the drum & bass variety. The Bristolian duo have been turning heads for their sick blend of bass heavy garage and grime. Given their musical style, the move to drum & bass isn't too much of a shocker, though definitely very welcome. After showing Friction some drum & bass tunes they'd made, the idea of an EP for Shogun was mentioned. My Nu Leng said: "It's been over a year since that conversation started and we are really happy to now get it out there." NEWS: MY NU LENG TURN THEIR HEADS TO D&B ARTIST OF THE MONTH: KINGS OF THE ROLLERS It's been a big summer of parties and festivals and one name from the drum & bass sphere has well and truly smashed it.` Before the summer kicked off the name Kings of the Rollers was just warming up. The artists behind it; Serum, Voltage & Bladerunner are all well established in their own right and each operating in spheres not directly linked to another. Perhaps that's what makes their joint venture so exciting. In the space of a season the three DJs, through hard graft and a string of landmark sets, have managed to propel the name Kings of the Rollers to the front-line of the drum & bass scene and for all the right reasons. So the clue is in the name, when seeing these guys you can expect a fast paced, energetic set that is laid with rollers. Now by their very nature, rolling riddims can sit it all the sub-genres of drum & bass and that's something that these guys have capitalised on. They masterfully cruise their way through punchy jump up, old skool jungle and murky technical cuts like nobodies business. The result surfaces as sets that can immediately please everyone, and when pulled off as tightly as these guys do, it's hard to not be dumbstruck. There's still chance to catch them in action before Autumn falls at Hospitality In The Park in September. 42 ISSUE 102 / 2017 DRUM & BASS PLAYLIST The drum and bass on our playlist this month Former Self Argo, Too Greezy & Kumarachi Straight G Total Science, Hyrdo & War Hyperborean (feat.
