EAT MORE FRUITS & VEGGIES Superior Grocers in South Los Angeles at Compton and 74th Street "The market chain wanted to promote healthy eating, so Jan Perry (former Los Angeles City Council Councilwoman for the 9th District) asked me to create something for them. I came up with the idea of having all these crazy and wild fruits and veggies working out together. Two years later, I was asked to come back and paint it again after the wall had been covered in graffi ti. I thought that if I covered it all up, that would create a war and the guys who did it would return; so instead I decided to incorporate the graffi ti into my work." MAN SHARK MURAL The Brewery Lofts "This was a collaboration with Norwegian painter Chris Reddy to celebrate World Art Day; he designed the men and the background while I created the LA sharks. It's about Hollywood, irony and swimming with the sharks; they all have to wear sunglasses, they all have smirks and they all have attitude. This was previously on view at Pershing Square on the corner of 5th Street and Olive, directly across the street from the Millennium Biltmore Hotel. It was recently relocated to the outside of my studio on my birthday." The Murals 144 SEPTEMBER 2017
