High product Quinn Carroll, the No. 10 offensive tackle and No. 71 overall player in the nation per Rivals, will take his second visit to Notre Dame after previously traveling to South Bend for Sophomore Day April 2. Sachse (Texas) High weakside defensive end Hunter Spears, the No. 241 overall player and No. 17 weakside defensive end in the nation according to Rivals, will get his first look at South Bend during that weekend. • Franklin (Tenn.) High offensive tackle Jake Wray, one of the top over- all players in the class of 2020, will be in South Bend for the USC game. Wray already holds offers from programs all over the country, including Alabama, Georgia, Louisville, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Ohio State, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas and Tennessee. • Loganville (Ga.) High senior cornerback Donte Burton was scheduled to take an official visit to South Bend for the USC game, but recently com- mitted to Wisconsin and has canceled all future visits in favor of remaining solid to the Badgers. Burton took an unofficial visit to Notre Dame July 15 and left with Notre Dame at the top of his list, but communication had fallen off in the weeks leading up to his decision. • Plenty of class of 2018 talent is still expected to make the trip for the matchup with the Trojans, including five-star Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei standout Amon-Ra St. Brown, Rivals' No. 1 wide receiver and No. 4 overall player in the nation. St. Brown will be joined by two four-star teammates — offensive tackle Chris Murray and inside linebacker Solo- mon Tuliaupupu. Ocala (Fla) Vanguard three-star safety Avonta Crim also is expected to visit. • North Fort Myers (Fla.) High 2018 athlete Joe Wilkins Jr. has trimmed his list to six schools. Along with Notre Dame, Wilkins listed Kentucky, North Carolina State, Iowa State, Michigan State and South Florida as the finalists to land his commitment. Notre Dame is recruiting Wilkins Jr. as a cornerback, and he will take an official visit to South Bend Nov. 4 when the Irish host Wake Forest. — Corey Bodden and David McKinney Commitment Updates Games played Sept. 28-30 unless otherwise noted • DL Jayson Ademilola: Recorded 2.5 sacks in Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep's (3-1) 23-14 win over Paramus (N.J.) Catholic (2-3). Next game: vs. Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic (3-1). • DL Justin Ademilola: Also notched 2.5 sacks in the 23-14 victory versus Paramus (N.J.) Catholic (2-3). Next game: vs. Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic (3-1). • DB Derrik Allen: Had a bye … For the season, has recorded approximately 50 tackles, three passes broken up, two interceptions and three receiving touchdowns. Next game: vs. Roswell (Ga.) High (1-4). • WR Kevin Austin: Set the Coconut Creek (Fla.) North Broward Prep (3-1) school record for receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in a game with a 329-yard, five-touchdown performance on seven catches in a 58-20 win over Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Somerset Academy (3-1) … Has 550 receiving yards and eight touchdowns through four games. Next game: at Miami La Salle (0-3). • LB Matthew Bauer: Erie (Pa.) Cathedral Prep (6-0) defeated Athol Springs (N.Y.) St. Francis (1-4) 48-0 … Cathedral Prep has allowed just 35 points so far this season. Next game: vs. Warren (Mich.) De Salle Collegiate (5-1). • OL John Dirksen: Maria Stein (Ohio) Marion Local (6-0) won 32-7 over Anna (Ohio) High (5-1). Next game: at New Bremen (Ohio) High (4-3). • DT Ja'Mion Franklin: Ridgely (Md.) North Caroline (5-0) picked up a 48-12 win over Berlin (Md.) Decatur (2-3). Next game: at Easton (Md.) High (2-3). • WR Micah Jones: Caught four passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns in one half of action during Gurnee (Ill.) Warren Township's (4-2) 48-7 win over Mundelein (Ill.) High (2-4) … Has caught 37 passes for 556 yards and eight touchdowns through six contests. Next game: vs. Waukegan (Ill.) High (0-5). • QB Phil Jurkovec: In just one half of action for Gibsonia (Pa.) Pine-Richland (6-0), completed 11 of 14 passes for 161 yards with one touchdown and an interception, plus rushed for 88 yards on 10 carries, in a 47-17 win over Pittsburgh Central Catholic (4-2) …. For the season, has completed 100 of 135 throws for 1,631 yards with 13 touchdowns and three interceptions … Also has 312 yards and 12 scores on the ground. Next game: vs McMurray (Pa.)
