Rodriguez blessed the capstone of the west spire of the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception April 7, after an emergency restoration to the façade of the Cathedral began. The blessing took place nearly 107 years after Bishop Nicholas Matz (inlay) blessed the final stone of the Cathedral on Nov. 10, 1910, after its initial construction.
