u Inside The Head Of An Amateur Riding In A George
Morris Clinic
In her debut blog for the Chronicle, Lindsey Colburn made readers cry laughing
with her tales of three days riding in front of the legendary George H. Morris.
She and her little off-the-track Thoroughbred Soon impressed the master, but it
wasn't without some hilarity along the way.
"We got our stirrups back after the Canter That Would Not End, and to my
surprise, George asked for Soon," Colburn writes. "Outwardly, I was calm, but in
my head I was screaming: 'GEORGE MORRIS WANTS TO RIDE MY HORSE!
THIS IS NOT A DRILL. BE NORMAL. DON'T SCARE GM.' "

u Behind The Stall Door With Wilbur
The popular series usually takes a behind-the-scenes look at some
of the sport's top horses, but this time we trained the cameras on
Georgina Bloomberg's resident barn pig, Wilbur.
Find out how Wilbur came to spend his winters in Wellington, Fla.,
and summers in Brewster, N.Y., enjoying his days cavorting with a
goat and becoming the best friend of grand prix show jumpers.

u Don't Hide Your Fails
In the day and age of social media, it's all too easy to fall into the
trap of presenting the perfect picture of life to the world. Blogger
Lindsey Long is determined to smash that image and embrace the
reality, mistake-filled as it may be.
"Like many of you, I am serious as a heart attack about my riding
and about the progress of my horses," she says. "I have big goals
and big plans. But it's because of that, not in spite of it, that I've
resolved to memorialize and share my epic fails, not sweep them
under the rug. I truly believe that failure is a 100 percent necessary
ingredient for success."
