Creating The Crown— Matching Architectural Features The top cap of the sign, which we all referred to as the crown, was a matter of mapping the details of the existing archi- tectural features of the building. (Photo D) A good photo of the feature was all I needed to recreate the details and design the crown to emulate the roofline of the shopping center. The Final Illustration— To Scale With Photo Placement Once the final illustration revisions were made and approved, (Illustrations 3 & 4) I created a final set of drawings that included details for fabrication and installation. The engineer on the proj- ect uses these final details for approv- ing the design prior to city approval for the permit. By way of a good survey, this design project provided the client a new look without the cost of demo- lition by using the core of what was already there. This design project took about 12 hours including client revisions and final drawings for fabrication. SDG 1. Title of Publication: Sign & Digital Graphics. 2. Publication No: 2158- 1533. 3.
