INSIDER | BLUEPRINTS naked fish Baja California Sur’s The Palm Orchard. Exotic Oasis A mile of virgin beaches awaits at he Palm Orchard. By Melissa Gillespie Located on the Pacific coast, just south of Mexico’s Todos Santos in Baja California Sur, the Palm Orchard is a 21-acre, master- planned boutique development on approxi- mately one mile of untouched beachfront. Two of Baja’s most sought-after surf breaks are directly north and south of the property. The developers of the Palm Orchard, Wind River Land Company, are mindfully develop- ing seven small, uniquely different boutique neighborhoods within The Orchard. Each of the neighborhoods will have its own identity, while maintaining a consistent look and feel by applying the same building methods and materials through- out. All materials will be sourced locally and throughout Mexico for authenticity. Homes will be designed to blend into the exist- ing oasis of 30,000 exotic plants and palm trees currently on site. Construction of Phase 1 is slated to begin in July, with deliveries happening late summer 2011 through early 2012. Currently, approximately 50 homes are planned, ranging from two to four bedrooms and 1,750 to 6,000 square feet. There will also be 10 studio-style condominiums built in the Pueblito, the central amen- ity area of the Palm Orchard. They will be priced from the mid $300s to mid $400s and be a part of the venue-driven rental program. Homes will start in the mid $400s, ranging as high as $2.5 million or more. The Pueblito will feature a large swim- ming pool with water slide, a community fire pit, exercise facility, yoga studio, intimate spa, children’s area, chef’s kitchen, owner’s bar and dining area, and a number of hotel- style rooms for owners and visiting guests. The community will also feature a beach club, restaurant, cooking school, and organic garden for residents.
