GOLD AND BLACK ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 28, ISSUE 2 41 just try to improve it. Our culture had to change and I think they were a big piece in that, but it also helped hav- ing Rapheal Davis. It was important he had some willing participants in this class. I think a lot of the time in re- cruiting, people say the right things, but can they actu- ally do the things that are necessary to win? Some guys aren't wired that way. Some guys are wired to play for themselves. I think all four guys in this class are great ex- amples. Don't always feel like you have to know if someone has a question, and then says, 'Well, you're the coach.' "Aren't we dealing with a new team with new guys this year, and might there be a different dynamic? We lose one big piece and we're a different team. We just have to let things come to us. And some people are in a different Brian Neubert Matt Painter thinks Purdue's regular-season Big Ten title last sea- son should give the Boilermakers confidence this year. "We have enough pieces to win again," he said.
