GOLD AND BLACK ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 28, ISSUE 2 84 it, then the next 10 seconds. And then the last 10, we have to get someone in foul trouble or attack the basket, create for somebody else. But I just feel that it seemed different, the feet are moving, we're closing the gaps, our length. When you put it all together, I'm like, 'Wow, we've got our size back,' and that's what we needed. We still performed well with being small, but you've got to get that size when you play against certain teams." Gold and Black: Do you think your schedule is a good fit for this team? Versyp: "I think it's a good challenge. You have to build some confidence when you have a young team, but I think our trip out to Utah will be very tough and all the teams in Hawaii and then coming back and playing Georgia Tech, I think that stretch we will grow up a lot. You have to bal- ance that. Next year, it's up quite a bit with the schedule, because then you have six juniors. Everyone will have gotten older. It's challenging, but it also has to build our confidence." Gold and Black: What are your biggest concerns? Versyp: "The biggest thing is who is going to lead us at the point guard spot? And it's not going to be just one person, it's going to be collective. We have the right players, but we've always had juniors and seniors in those spots. It's the first time in a long time we don't have that. I think we have the right players, it's just how quickly they mature, how they don't beat themselves up to much, because they'll be worried about themselves and have to realize they need to worry about everybody else. Right now, that's my biggest concern. Who is going to lead when things go bad? Who will bring us together? Keys will do that, but at the point guard spot, you've got to have a warrior who gets it." j Celebrates Student-Athletes Meet You At Arni's TM Rachel Ho Senior, Biology, West Lafayette.
