GOLD AND BLACK ILLUSTRATED VOLUME 28, ISSUE 2 87 Léony Boudreau 15 5-10 • G • Fr. Breakdown: Boudreau is a tall, athletic guard, but might find a bit of a logjam at her position in Purdue's backcourt right now, behind Oden, McLaughlin and perhaps Murphy. But if Boudreau can handle the ball a bit — she's been described as a combo guard — then she might be able to find minutes. And she's going to be able to give the Boilermakers length on the perimeter, something they have not had enough of in recent seasons. Dani Lawson 22 6-2 • F • Fr. Breakdown: Lawson is a 4 with good size and a well- developed face-up game, and that'll be beneficial to a Purdue team in need of such a player. There's obviously minutes to be had at power forward, so it won't be surprising to see Lawson get plenty of opportunities. But Lawson has to mix it up on the interior, too, because Purdue will need to defend, and rebound, from the position. Lamina Cooper 40 5-9 • G • So. Breakdown: As a freshman, Cooper showed enough flashes to lead many to believe she could take a fairly significant jump in her second year. She's a long, athletic wing with a nice 15-foot shot. She hit nine three-pointers last season, too, so defenses have to at least pay attention on the perimeter. Versyp could even use her at the point occasionally as well, because she's a good enough ball-handler to help the Boilermakers get into their offense. Fatou Diagne 45 6-4 • C • So. Breakdown: Diagne has battled injuries throughout her career, a reason why her minutes were limited in junior college. They might be limited at Purdue also, certainly will so at the beginning of the season as she allows a stress reaction to heal. But if she can get healthy, stay healthy and get into the rotation, then Diagne gives the Boilermakers an intriguing defensive presence. But again, she'll have to stay healthy, then learn what the Boilermakers want on the defensive end.
