For instance, junior Will Marciniak is better in the smallbore than air rifle and that was the event he preferred. He worked hard this past summer in air rifle and his scores have risen as a result. "Now, he is a strong two-gun shooter and that is the kind of thing you have to develop," Miller said. "When you get to the NCAAs, you take five and No. 6 might be a great shooter in one gun, but doesn't average out to be one of your better ones in both guns, then they'll be sitting at home and not helping you out at all." ■ Sometimes, adding just the right person to a team makes all the difference. Newcomer To Watch Sophomore Kendra Jacobs is the lone newcomer to this year's team. She attended Air Force last year, where she had a season-high 586 in the air rifle and 579 in the smallbore for a total of 1,165 against Texas Christian. Jacobs competed in several USA Shooting Ju - nior Olympics and USA Shooting Rocky Mountain Championships while in high school. She finished her prep career ranked 11th nationally in air rifle.
