High Turay is having a breakout senior sea- son for Irvington, piling up 28 tackles and seven sacks in the first seven games. Rivals.com rates the 6-5, 235-pounder as a three-star talent and the No. 33 pros- pect in New Jersey. Rutgers and NC State have long been considered the top two schools for Turay. Four-star linebacker Payton Wilson from Hills- borough (N.C.) Orange High verbally committed to North Carolina in the spring, but he was at NC State's home game Sept. 30 against Syracuse. A day after the Pack's win over Louisville, head coach Dave Doeren and defensive coordinator Dave Huxtable were on the sideline at Orange High to watch Wilson. He officially visited NCSU Nov. 3. Rivals.com rates Wilson as the No. 7 recruit from the state, and the No. 7 outside linebacker and No. 133 overall player in the country. He had 103 tackles, 21 stops for loss and 10 sacks in his first eight games before tearing his ACL. Three-star defensive back Tanner Ingle from Or - lando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips High made a verbal com- mitment to Tennessee over the summer, but with head coach Butch Jones' future uncertain NC State has inquired. Huxtable was at his high school game Oct. 21. Ingle is an athletic 5-10, 180-pounder. He was timed at 4.50 seconds in the 40 at the Nike Camp in Orlando, Fla., the eighth fastest registered time. He also had a 4.15-second shuttle time and 35.0-inch vertical jump. • A pair of prospects on NC State's recruiting board have committed elsewhere. Four-star linebacker Eriq Gilyard from Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian committed to Central Florida Oct. 22. Gilyard had made an official visit to NC State Sept. 30, and his final choice came down to UCF and NCSU. Three-star defensive back Kendall Williamson from Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood High made a verbal commitment to Stanford. He had NC State, Vander - bilt and Wake Forest among his finalists. Williamson made a pair of unofficial visits to Raleigh, one in February and the other in July.
