Peace is God's plan! According to 1 Corinthians 14:33, "God is not the author of confu fu f sion, but of p e a c e ." A nd w e le a r n i n 1 Corinthians 7:15 that He has called us to peace. …en just look at this promise in Isaiah 48:17-18: "I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to proƒt, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! th th t en had th th t y hy h peace been as a river, r, r and thy righteousness as the wav av a es of the sea." God has giv iv i en us His commandments, His Wor Wor W d, so we can prosper and liv iv i e in peace. If we will walk in covenant with God, we can even hav av a e peace with our enemies. Places of Rest …ere is plent y of trouble in the world. Without the protection of God, things are unsure in this life fe f . But Isaiah 32:17-18 assures us that, "…e fr fr f uit of that righteousness will be peace; its eœe œe œ ct will be quietness and confidence fo fo f rever. If we want to liv iv i e in peace, we hav av a e to pursue righteousness—w —w — e hav av a e to fo fo f llow God and obey His Wor Wor W d. …e reward is substantial—quietness, conƒdence, peacefu fu f l dwelling places, secure homes and rest! Peace is such a powerfu fu f l fo fo f rce that even if your circumstances are turned upside down and inside out, or you're caught right in the middle of a war, or you're experiencing tremendous emotional turmoil—even then—the peace of God can rise up within you and bring you a sense of well-being. Another wonderfu fu f l aspect of peace is that it acts as God 's signpost fo fo f r guidance. When you have a question ab ab a out wh wh w at you you y should do, the Bible say ay a s to: "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts…" (Colossians 3:15).
