47 SNOWBIKE WORLD FALL 2017 3. Earlier we said the first thing we'd do to any fuel-injected snowbike is run a Raze Wingman kit. Well, the second thing we would do is the Raze coolant-heated handlebars. Its a must-have, otherwise you're stopping and heat- ing your hands on the exhaust every 10-15 minutes. The Raze heated handlebars are awesome because they don't use any of battery power––you can save that for starting the engine. They are efficient and they are hot. www.razemotorsports.com 2. We started our KTM 450 XC-F builds with a Thumper Racing 490 big bore kit, and that was awesome because it gave greater diameter to the piston, but kept the stroke the same. The bike would still rev and be- haved just like it would as a stock KTM 450. That was really cool, because you keep the same throttle response and high revving engine but at with the perks of a 500. It had a lot more torque all through the power range. It just rain so well. It was one the most powerful naturally-aspirated bikes I we've ridden. And in many ways it was much more fun to ride than a turbo- charged bike because of the instant response. You always knew what it was gonna do. It liked to rev high and be ridden hard. www.thumperracing.net
