I t's often said that bigger is not always better. While that may be true in some cases, let's face it… when the conversa- tion turns to displacement, well, bigger simply sounds like a good idea. The basis of our build is a stout, no- nonsense Dart Big M iron block that fea- tures a 10.2-inch deck height. Final bore size is 4.600 inches. In conjunction with a 4.75-inch stroker crank from Lunati, we're talking about a whopping 632 cubic inches. Compression is at the high end, at 15:1. No laughing gas or added air-squeeze for this bad boy—it's gonna pop, dig in its hooves, and bellow and scream by simply igniting the fuel and air fed through a single 1,150-cfm Holley Pro Dominator carb.
