BRUCE BROWN, FATHER OF DUST 2 GLORY
DIRECTOR DANA BROWN, PASSES
SCORE International wishes to acknowledge the passing
of iconic documentary filmmaker/director Bruce Brown, the
father of Dust 2 Glory filmmaker Dana Brown. According
to the Brown family, Bruce Brown, 80, passed away in
his sleep Sunday December 10, 2017 in Santa Barbara,
California. Brown introduced the world to surfing through
a number of legendary films including Endless Summer in
1966. Brown also filmed Endless Summer II with his son
Dana Brown in 1994, and produced other films such as
On Any Sunday, and On Any Sunday II, and others. Brown
is also a Surfer's Hall of Fame Inductee.
"All of us in the SCORE family recognize and acknowledge
the life of Bruce Brown and know that his contributions
to the film industry will continue to live on through his son Dana," said SCORE
CEO/President Roger Norman. "We send our deepest condolences, thoughts
and prayers to the entire Brown family and will long remember him and his
contributions to two sports we hold so dear".
