10 CFC ARENA HAMDEN, CT I n the early 2000s, the heads of the various branches of Connecticut Football Club met to discuss paying for field time at facilities. Instead of paying for that time at other facilities, why not build their own? CFC Arena was born out of that idea and is now in its 11th year of operation in Hamden, near New Haven. As the home of Connecticut FC, the primary sport at the facility is soccer; it makes up about 80% of the programming, by Michael Horn
