PHOTO BY STEVE SMEDE / IDAHO FALLS MAGAZINE OUR CITY BY THE RIVER DISCOVER IDAHO FALLS—THE WEST’S BEST-KEPT SECRET Nestled on the banks of one of the world’s most beautiful rivers, the Rocky Mountain community Idaho Falls offers the trappings of a large metropolis in the charming package of pleasant laid-back living. For the duration of your stay, count- less wonders are available to you, includ- ing many activities, events and attractions that are just a stone’s throw from any point within the Greater Idaho Falls area. For starters, check out the view! The Snake River Valley’s skyline consists of the majestic Teton Mountain Range, and in our backyard is the world’s most famous park—Yellowstone. Offering its own symphony, opera, chamber orchestra, community drama, performing arts groups, museums, zoos, and of course professional minor league baseball, there are many things to do. Cen- trally located in the heart of some of the world’s best known recreation areas, Idaho Falls has positioned itself as the gateway to year-round adventures and activities. WHERE TO FIND US All of its local attractions aside, Idaho Falls is located just hours from Grand Targhee and Sun Valley ski resorts, Henry’s Lake, 6 IDAHO FALLS VISITORS GUIDE 2010 HENRY’S LAKE STATE PARK SPENCER 22 33 MUD LAKE DUBOIS ST. Actually, “listing” isn’t the right word ALPINE, WY Craters of the Moon, the Sawtooths, Island Park, Jackson Hole, and several national forests. The Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) is a regional air transportation center serving eastern Idaho, southern Montana, and western Wyoming. The airport is served by Skywest/Delta Airlines with frequent daily flights to Salt Lake City, Utah; Horizon Air/ Alaska Airlines with daily flights to Boise, Idaho; Allegiant Air with weekly flights to Las Vegas, Nev., and United Express with daily flights to Denver, Colo. at all. RelocateAmerica dedicated nearly 2,000 words of description to our city. The detailed accolades are a pleasure to read— not so much because the information is new to any of us, but because it comes from a fresh perspective. RelocateAmeri- ca’s discussion of I.F. is complimentary to the extreme. By the same token, it’s by no means inaccurate. Details include the area’s natural attrac- tions, the vibrant agricultural industry, the greenbelt, the zoo, a history of economic stability, a strong work ethic, a variety of housing, strong public schools, excellent higher-education opportunities and of course—the INL.
