12 THE SHOP MARCH 2018 Project Vehicle Sketchbook 2017 Toyota Tacoma Overland Ford F-350 Super Duty GMC C30 Dually For the third year in a row, Covercraft teamed up with Finish Line Speed Shop to showcase a custom vehicle in the name of charity at the 2017 SEMA Show. The 1967 Burn Out Cancer GMC C30 Dually graced the show floor this year in honor of people close to the builder who have battled the disease. "Our family, like so many others, has dealt with pain and suffering related to cancer," said Lyon McClenahan, owner of Finish Line Speed Shop. "We have had close friends and family members who have either succumbed to the disease or are still in the fight against it. We wanted to build a truck that emphasized their determination and strength." Proceeds will go to the world-renowned Fred Hutch Center Research Center in Seattle. Scosche Industries had many of its car audio and consumer tech products and accessories featured on project builds at the 2017 SEMA Show, including the Scosche 2017 Toyota Tacoma Overland. Built by the pros at Camburg Engineering of Southern California and supported by a host of top automotive aftermarket companies, it was featured in the Mothers booth and in the Rockstar Performance Garage display area at the official event after-party SEMA Ignited. This year it is scheduled to go on tour, participating in pres- tigious outdoor enthusiast events like King of the Hammers, Hotel Tacoma and Overland Expo. It features several of the company's products including: EFX 12 audio installation acces- sories, stereo installation dash kit, MagicMount Pro Window/ Dash, Revolt Dual, heavy-duty universal fire extinguisher/ BoomBottle mount, and three-in-one heavy-duty action camera/weather-resistant phone case mount. Participants include: K&N Engineering (air intake); Magna- Flow (exhaust); ODYSSEY Battery; Camburg Engineering (KINETIK Series billet upper arms, custom bumper, custom overland bed rack); FOX (2.5 factory remote reservoir front coil-overs with DSC adjusters, 2.5 factory piggyback rear shocks with DSC adjusters); Deaver Spring (leaf springs); AMP Research (side steps); Rigid Industries (lighting); sPOD (eight-circuit SE system with HD switch panel); Hertz (sound system); Sony (XAV-AX100 head unit); KMC Wheels (17- inch wheels); General Tire; Warn Industries (winch); Factor 55; MAXTRAX; RotopaX; Roadwire (leather interior); and ARB USA (rooftop tent). Hellwig Products debuted its 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty build in the Ford Motor Co. booth at the 2017 SEMA Show. The purpose-built recon adventure pickup, dubbed the Operator, is equipped with a custom bed- mounted 2017 Arctic Cat Wildcat X LTD UTV and Hellwig's Big Wig 2,800-pound air springs. The build team at LGE-CTS Motorsports in San Dimas, California, added a Stage 5 suspension kit by ICON Vehicle Dynamics, Fab Fours Vengeance front and rear bumpers, Rigid Industries light bar, Power- StepXL running boards from AMP Research, Warn Industries winch and a Whelen Engineering siren light bar. Other F-350 Super Duty participants include: Magna- Flow (Pro Series DPF performance exhaust system); OPTIMA Batteries; Falken Tire (37-inch Wildpeak M/T tires); Method (17-inch ND-HV wheels); Bush- wacker (fender flares); BASF (paint); T-REX Grilles (X-Metal grille); Wilco Off-Road (Pre-Runner tailgate); SherpTek (custom bed-mounted UTV deck); Mac's Custom Tie-Downs; Daystar Products (fuel cans), Hi-Lift Jack Co.; and Krazy Beaver Tools (shovel). Arctic Cat participants include: SSV Works (SXS head unit and speaker cans); KICKER (speakers); Rugged Radios (race radio, intercom); Assault Industries (steering wheel, side mirrors); and Buggy Whip (amber safety antenna).
