Issue 45 / 2012 HOT SINCE 82 DALEY PADLEY HOUSE / TECHNO 31 www.guestlist.net 7 GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS PIRUPA Leeds based producer Daley Padley, known to most as Hot Since 82 is beginning to make significant progress in the deep house scene. Personally, we are yet to hear a bad track from the producer and if you have not heard his big hit 'Knee Deep in Louise', then, where have you been? Padley's mastery of the deep sub bass sound is something to behold, and all his productions, including his remixes, all contain his signature deep, dark, almost brooding bass sound. He will definitely go down as one of my producers of the year, and unlike some DJs these days, his mixing skills live also live up to expectation. Consequently, the future looks bright for Padley, as I honestly cannot see how with tunes this good he can continue to go unnoticed by many. Hot Since 82's new track "Planes & Trains' is out on Monday 29th October, but in the meantime check out his vast catalogue of deep house bangers to help biding the time until Monday's release that little bit easier. During the Ibiza party season, it's always difficult to pick out one stand-alone artist out of the many that spend their summer keeping crowds jumping. However, this year brought the White Isle a tune that clearly had the partygoers moving more than most: 'Party Non Stop' by Pirupa. ALBUM OF THE MONTH: BACK IN FLIGHT SCHOOL Awarded the tune of the 2012 Ibiza Season at the annual DJ Awards, it's not hard to see why this rhythmically hypnotic house track went down so well. Working in a simple, instructive vocal with the loopy, snaring track provides a straightforward, but floor-filling anthem. As with the best things in life, it is simple but effective. The success of 'Party Non Stop' is the result of Pirupa's gruelling work over the fast two years. Coming from Italy, this DJ/producer has slowly been building up an impressive list of achievements with his previous tracks. 2009's 'Sweet Devil' became one of the most downloaded tracks on electronic music store Beatport, as did 'Get Funky' in 2010. Pirupa has also been signed to some of the most well- known dance record labels in the world, as well as remixing classic tunes from the likes of Jamiroquai and Sharam. On top of all this, Pirupa regularly plays some of the biggest clubs in the world, from Ministry of Sound in London to New York's Pacha, as well as venues in Paris, Miami, Dubai and even as far as Bogota. He can count Pete Tong, Luciano, Paul Van Dyk, David Guetta and many more amongst his supporters and often has his tracks played by them. With all this success under his still relatively young belt, Pirupa is definitely one to watch. TOUR SCHEDULE : MADEON The eagerly anticipated debut album from the hugely popular Miguel Campbell has touched down, a fifteen track-strong culmination of the disco sounds and vocals that have shaped the phenomenal career of this Leeds based producer. The feel good vibes and vocals that Miguel has made his name through are evident throughout all fifteen tracks with funk, groove and pop-crossovers creating the positive feel that emanates from many-a-Miguel track. The first single released from the album 'Not that Kind of Girl', features the vocals of Beth Lott encompassing a feminine feel reminiscent of that in summertime hit 'Something Special'. Released on The Hot Creations label, Miguel has firm support from head-honcho Jamie Jones who has been airing a few of the album tracks to the British public. When questioned about the evident theme to the album Miguel said that "the aviation theme was inspired by the old 'in- flight' ethos of funk", along with the amount of time he's spent on airplanes in the last year. And if going by his recent success we can only predict that he may well be spending a lot more time on airplanes in the coming year. With its upbeat vibes this album is the perfect soundtrack to a dreary English winter, while one can only dream of the summer ahead.
