Fabregoul will work closely with department heads to optimise operations and direct sustainable business strategies for the hotel, spa and its F&B outlets. He also concurrently holds the managing director appointment at The St. Regis Singapore. Fabregoul was previously general manager at W Singapore, Sentosa Cove. Bruce Ryde joins Marriott International as its vice-president for luxury brands and brand marketing for Asia Pacific, based in the company's Asia-Pacific Continent office in Hong Kong. He will be responsible for the luxury brand strategy in Asia Pacific. Ryde joins the company from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), where he was head of luxury and lifestyle, brand & marketing for Asia, Middle East & Africa. Shona Pang has been appointed director of sales & marketing at the 253- key Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel. Pang oversees all sales, marketing and public relations efforts for the newly- opened hotel. She brings with her more than 10 years of convention sales experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Sheraton, Pang served as the director of conventions and events at One World Hotel. Centara Hotels & Resorts has appointed Allen Thomas as vice president business development, effective January 1. Thomas will be responsible for executing the company's plan to grow from 58 to 134 hotels over the next five years, reporting to Centara's deputy CEO Markland Blaiklock, who came on board last October to lead the company's expansion strategy. Grand Hyatt Taipei has tapped Jan-Hendrik Meidinger as its new general manager, who will take the helm of the 853-room property and its 1,000 hotel ambassadors. Previously the general manager of The Excelsior, Meidinger has had more than 25 years of hospitality industry experience. His appointment follows a long career with the Hyatt Group, having previous served as resident manager at Grand Hyatt Taipei from 2006 to 2010. The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa and Langkawi International Convention Centre has promoted Rajiv Kapoor to general manager. He was previously the hotel manager for The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa in 2013, and was responsible for spearheading the hotel's refurbishments. Kapoor will oversee all areas of the hotel including future development of associates, product improvement, financial performance, profitability, brand compliance and guest satisfaction.
