Each day you'll cruise for 4-5 hours, clearing locks and seeing the world at a pace you'll appreciate. Along the way stop for wine tastings and gastronomic indulgences, cycle along country lanes and hike green valleys. Your houseboat home has only four cabins, so you're sharing the deck and the views with like-minded travellers. With a CEO there to offer advice—and steer!—you'll quickly realize that getting there is half the adventure. Allow EUR200-280 for meals not included. DAY 1 DIJON Meet in Dijon then transfer to beautiful green Pontailler-sur-Saône in the Burgundy region where you board our 49-ft canal barge. The barge has four cabins with attached bathrooms plus a cabin for your CEO. A shared lounge and kitchen round off the inside space with the outside boasting wooden garden furniture and an electric barbeque. Opt to rent a bicycle during your tour and store it on board, space permitting. DAY 2 AUXONNE Dig into the included starter kit of breakfast essentials and local delicacies to start your day off right, then cruise 4-5 hours a day along the Saône River. Opt to go hiking or check out Auxonne's castle and other medieval buildings. DAY 3 ST JEAN DE LOSNE Enjoy the day's cruise through the region's lush greenery before arriving to this important river port. Sample the town's specialities of marble hams and cheese puffs. DAY 4 SEURRE Hike the trails along the water and through the greenery of the Saône Valley, walk through town to see its beautiful vintage buildings or try your hand at fishing in the river. Sample the artisanal chocolates and delicious cheeses while you're here— they'll go great with the wine you picked up in Beaune. DAY 8 DIJON Sample some of the rich culinary specialities from the ancient walled city of Louhans before transferring back to Dijon in the afternoon.
